amanda: and party hats, and mexico, and lysol, and pants...i'm just naming stuff in my room.
renee: you have mexico in your room? dude, i'm hitching to yo' place for a partayyy.
amanda: I KNOW. please take it, the mosquitos are eating me and it smells like limes.
my theme song for the week:

//i have my little "hercfule" story to tell the world, because it has greatly impacted that way i see things (at least mildly). last week, i was working on a project for lit. late into the night, and i knew i would need some entertainment while i created edible plants booklets. so i turn on disney's animated hercules and immediately get sentimental, because hercules is freaking...rad, + i hadn't seen it for many years. it was definitely a lot funnier it seemed, probably because i understand the hahas better than all those aeons ago. the songs, the jokes. i have a crush on hercules. i've been quoting the movie to myself in the shower ever since then. i compare my friends to pegasus + meg. hades is my favorite, most def.

AND NOW, IT'S TIME FOR...ANOTHER ADDITION TO RENEE'S BUCKET LIST.

somehow, in chem, we were talking about cooking @ different altitudes. we proposed the idea of cooking noodles in a submarine so they'll cook in like, nanoseconds, and the prospect sounds like such a dish that i just have to do it before i die.

//and the words of the beatles, "here comes the sun..." can finally take meaning here in georgia. please warm weather, stay.

cheers, r e n e e

come to my hot topic. please.

//so i went to the library yesterday to get some SAT prep books. my dad hands me just about one of everything, and i come home with five gihugent volumes + a video. oh yes, i love watching videos about SAT preparation, it just makes me so giddy inside that i want to start dancing like a leprechaun! [/sarcasm]

I AM SO DETERMINED TO MAKE THE WEEK BEFORE SPRING BREAK GO MY WAY THAT I WOULD KILL BABIES IF I MUST.

fergie was born today. she is 35.
and this is about the only awesome thing that has happened today. in history.

the student council threw a little easter-egg-hunt bash for the elementary school kids this morning in the freezing wind at the practice fields. for one thing, it was a haze of easter color + cute, small children. second, IT WAS SO TERRIBLY COLD. why does the warm weather that was here for one day(which, by the way, couldn't be appreciated because i had to do a lot of hw) have to leave so soon??? come back...

i made newspaper! wahooooooooz!
but i don't get to do anything until next year as a sophomore. but still.

i did a little art w/ some free-flow ink and some notebook paper. i wasn't intending on using it, but because i regrettably forgot to bring paper that day, i had to use them (note the chemistry scribbles).
the past week was not good. i made a lot of bad grades on a lot of things, and i'm not sure why. i just seem to be getting stupider and stupider with each passing year, and i have no idea how or why. it frustrates me more than anything, especially when the world needs me to be smarter. i was in chemistry on thursday, and i had my backpack over one shoulder. i was squeezing in between this tight spot between my teacher's desk and my classmate's desk, and my backpack knocked my teacher's computer monitor to the floor. embarassing + stupid. i wasn't given too much crap about it because at least my chem class doesn't hate me, but i feel so bad about my teacher's computer.
also, on friday, we were turning in a major project grade for literature that day. i didn't finish the project at home, so i wasscrambling to get it done in school. i thought i was going to be fine, and i only had to print what i did in school before my class. unfortunately, my classmate got to the computer first, and by the time she's finished printing, class had already started. i was about to print, but my teacher got mad at me for not printing at home/before school. i thought i would not be able to turn the major grade, but she just barely let me print when she probably realized i'mma good kid when the guy came into class to tell me i made newspaper. thank dear God.

middle school playlist.

EVERYONE, EVERYONE, I HAVE AN ANNOUNCEMENT TO MAKE!

i have reached the climax of my pubescence.

this means two things, that a) don't look at me for the next one/two weeks, because i look like an out-of-the-way-raging hormones monster (which uncludes greasy skin, heavy acknowledgment towards the opposite sex, and perhaps some vertical stretching) + b) it's all downhill from here!

thought y'all would like to know. [/scout finch maycomb county accent]

the first english muffin that i have ever eaten [with raspberry preserves]. the experience was a pretty good one. :D

1. straight superiors @ band festival. "can i get a woop-woop?"
2. to kill a mockingbird is fantastic. finally, a "classic" i can actually get into, you know what i mean?
3. my sister's got a chorus recital tonight + they're supposed to wear sunglasses for something. i told her to wear shutter shades, but she refused. :[
4. I'MMA BANANA I'MMA BANANA I'MMA BANANA...LOOK AT ME MOVE!!!!
5. i had my newspaper interview today; i gotta say it was iffy. :

sorry for the lack of updates. the past week can only be described as rotten (in terms of personal, free time, especially for blogging).

A. my post-painted room! i have plans for further decoration, but that will have to wait (dang it).

B. i created a website for my chemistry project about marie curie.

C. i've acquired a very painful sore on the back of my neck. recent investigation has put 'sleeping awkwardly' as a suspect. stay tuned.

D. friday was our band evaluation performance. we went to mceachern high school, which seriously has the sickest campus in the entire universe, where we played three songs that were evaluated by judges. what's kind of disappointing though is we don't know our scores yet.

E. to commemorate the first day of spring (the weather was absolutely perfect today! (praise God!)

F. the girl scouts father/daughter dance was this evening as well. i'm not in girl scouts, but i somehow always find myself at all of the events, with no one to hang out with. :(

G. the books we've been reading in literature recently are very thought-provoking. we read anthem and the hunger games, and they both are tied with totalitarian governments, independent thinking, and resourcefulness. the minds of the main characters in those books really aren't terribly exceptional, especially katniss in the hunger games, but the main idea they cling to, about self-worth, is very interesting and quite inspiring.

one word: i have way too much chem schoolwork/homework, as well as math, MATH UGH STUPID HYPERBOLAS WHAT THE CRAP that i can't really do much of anything (including blogging, much less make my blog look stunningly gorgeouso, but you know, it never really was) but to stay glued to my desk and computer, figuring out titration equivalents, and message my aching neck as i sit, scrunched over, for hours on end.

...phew.

prix-paint.

we're painting my bedroom finally! the paint's "cafe' cream", and i'm love-love-loving it so far. the pink/purple walls before were not exactly my thing now (nor were ever really :]), but after many hours of back-breaking + blood-letting labor, it's almost finished! stopped for today, but it will be done tomorrow, guaranteed.

my friday night consisted of the production of a very fun video (exhibit a), pizza, and some harry potter. i fell asleep through the first couple minutes, but young daniel radcliffe as some 13/14 year old boy in the first movie was so adorable. i woke up saturday and stripped my walls of all photos/frames/post-it notes so we could start painting. my mommy and i went out for japanese for lunch (some of the best i've had in a long time) and we started painting at around three. i hope i'll get some much- needed rest tomorrow on God's day.

EXHIBIT A.
refrain from puking, smashing head, snorting arsenic, etc.

"l-o-g-a-n l-e-r-m-a-n!" is the most attractive boy on the face of this planet.

my name is flint. i love sunshine and long walks.

//today was the academic pep rally! the theme was 'Lassiter's Got Talent' with judges and a huge banner i was able to help paint. plenty of fun acts (including mrs. cook, my science teacher, aka grumpy, grouchy chemist, dancing happily like she was galloping in a meadow of daisies; my classmate with sweet robot dance moves; and better juggling than i could do in a million years. i was part of the little group of people in Renaissance in black shirts that enthusiastically clapped and hollered our lungs out at every single, little thing. i am so blessed to be part of an organization that loves to be excited and show it! unfortunately, no pictures now, but maybe later.

A list of some things I need/want at the moment:

- a foreign pen pal to write snail mail with + learn sweet new cultures,

- my driving permit (why am i complaining? hahaha),

- a better math grade,

- to be more social, friendly, and optimistic,

- toothpaste,

- a better body + the determination to achieve a better body :],

- WARM WEATHER! IT'S TOO COLD

thankfully, i'm able to recognize which ones i have control over. things that i want most, like warm weather so i can ride my bicycle and read outside and just wear summer clothing, i have none. how sad and ironic.

i just realized how insane acoustic music is. at the pep rally, a guy came out to sing roll away by back door slam (check it, it's a sincerely beautiful song) and i just melted. everything about that acoustic guitar is homey and free.
