"where is your backbone?"
i would like to salute there for tomorrow's debut album, a little faster, because i have completely yielded to its power this week. i currently happen to be listening to 'backbone', hence the above; my favorites are 'wish you away' and 'just in time'.
//what do you do when you find a couple about your young, 14 age, necking on the subway? comments appreciated.
"hope this is your imagination!"
okay, so this isn't the authentic michael, but i thought it was an authentic laugh out loud. i know he was a kind of weirdo, but dude, he was honestly a legend in his time. farewell.

walkuere
gosh, this movie was epic. in terms of scale and the presentation itself. i watched it last night and couldn't help watching it again this morning as well. to think what it must have been like for the actors to don that wretched uniform. bill nighy, the old guy in the glasses, playing general friedrich olbricht, said it took him a couple days to accept the costume. it was so convincing, amazing. "long live sacred germany."

a curious case
this movie was so beautiful. i thought some of it could have been done a little better, but the dark, beautiful, mysterious aura of the film was quite enchanting. it's kind of a sad thing how it lost nearly all of its oscar nominations to slumdog millionaire, but i believe it deserved every single one of those nominations. strangely, i had never seen brad pitt in a movie before this. he's a good actor.

i have a lot to blog about. was it mrs. worthington who said summarizing would be important?
wow, i learned something else from her besides punching holes in papers w/ pencils.
LIMITED PICTURES, ON ACCOUNT OF LAZINESS AND MOST OF THEM ARE IN MY UNCLE'S CAMERA. :)

so i spent the last week in the peoples' republic of china, picking heaping bags of lychees and buying fake chanel purses. xD
a lot of things happened, and i could say it all, but i'm not up for novel-long posts (it's summer, of course, hahaha.) so, i think i'll just say one thing each day.
last friday, on arrival, we got to catch fish. most restaurants in china, or atleast where we were, keep the seafood very fresh by keeping them alive in little pools in little huts beside the restaurant. my uncle caught the one we were going to eat, squirming, eeeeeeee, lemme go kinda deal, and then the cook headed off to the kitchen with it to chop its head off. thennnnnnnnn, (xD), we got to net some. they're just klunky like catfish or something, but they're so fast.
last saturday, we met my uncle stanley's new dogs: beef, big b, and small b. i think, they, as themselves, have let me decided that dogs are one of my favorite animals, not as fluffy cute pets, but as loyal companions. we brought beef along to pick lychees in my uncle gary's lychee field, rachel and i climbing like monkeys up the trees, picking, mostly eating. lychee monster. end of the day, headed to shenzhen, which is south of the town we were in before.
sunday, the shopping in shenzhen is NUTS. there are little shops in the malls tucked away that sell real designer stuff. i got a vivienne westwood bag for about USD $12 and other stuff...
monday, we went to window of the world. ohmygoodness.

all of the sculptures were miniature versions, all of them famous structures from around the world, like the l'arc de triomphe, the sphinx, st. mark's square in venice. there were belly dancers too, which was probably the most awkward thing in my life. XD
next day, spent the day at a mall where there are five levels, like 120 shops/level, all selling fake designer stuff. most shops' stuff were terrible, but super cheap, and there was this one store that was pretty good. grade A fake chanel, look just like the real thing, can't tell. when i went to bed that night, overwhelming guilt washed over me, because having a copy, trying to copy beautiful mind's own creation, never makes me want to see the darned thing ever again. i don't even want to look at all that stupid stuff anymore. ralph lauren seems to be just fine, for now. i think i'll recover, but whenever i see all those gucci, miu miu, louis vuitton stores, i want to look the other way and cry. :|||
then, went north to canton province, and arrived at the most beautiful hotel i have ever been to in my life.
it's a resort hotel, so families were there, with a gym, huge pool, spa...buffet. xD
next day, we went to a safari park, i have to get off the computer soon, there were koalas and stinky elephants, okay, i'm getting off, hold onto your pants.

today...//
this being my mother's mother's birthday today; she celebrates 87 summers.
romantic rain day. spent the day with my uncle rocky @ admiralty and causeway bay. we went to pacific place to look at ralph lauren, bottega veneta, prada, versace, dior, chanel...(!)...looked at the tucked away stores where you can find awesome stuff for awesome prices. we found an amazing calvin klein coat for $40.
day before yesterday...//
went to mong kok, the most densely populated region in the world. there are so many stores. x.x
day before the day before yesterday...//
tsim tsa shui, shopping...you wouldn't believe how cute a guy on the subway was. he probably noted me as 'creeper!' until i got off. xD/Dx
just monday.
there's this little store called i.t. and it's pretty much the best store in the entire world.
sunday.
i saw the movie 'taken' w/ liam neeson, famke janssen, and maggie grace on the flight from tokyo > hk. to think crazy stuff like...kidnapping traveling girls and turning them into prostitutes is mind-shattering and heart-wrenching. the action was gripping, and i thought it was amazing.
day.
auf wiedersehen.

feels pretty freaking good. 90 degrees + 85% humidity + sweat and a full stomach. ahh...
//thursday update?
atl >> tokyo, the loooong flight. about 13 hours, come off the plane with mouth agape: asians dress pretty freakin' rad, mhmm mhmm. all japanese are just like this nationality of little, cute asian people! ALL ASIANS DRESS AMAZING. what people consider fashionable in the states is considered typical in hong kong, so it's really quite frustrating to see everyone so stellar. :D even the guys dress cool and in or whatever. they wear so many brand names and dye their hair brown so that if they were in the u.s., they would ignorantly be thought gay. everyone dresses freaking amazing here! it's awesome!
arrived in h.k. on sunday evening and i immediately succumbed to my overwhelming jet lag. i think i only adjusted last night; been collapsing at like 6 o' clock every night when we come home after dinner. er, what the heck.
>> monday we went to the apm mall and there's this store that's like...i died and went to heaven. it's everything. i can't even describe it. mod london + japan + russia + dude. awesome. >> tuesday we went to tsim sha tsui, with some good shopping, but not really my style, but rachel bought some pretty cute stuff. >> wednesday we went to mong kok, the most densely populated region in the world, apparently. dunno why though, but the shopping there was awesome. there are like 100 stores, each with like 5 levels, with like 20 stores on each level. alllllllll my style. >> thursday we went to walked through 3 districts, [i forgot the first one], admiralty, and causeway bay. at i think admiralty, there's the pacific center, i think it's called that, that has the stores. ralph lauren, bottega veneta, prada, versace, marc jacobs...list goes on and on. i took pictures, so i still have to upload them. through admiralty and causeway bay, they have these little stores tucked away in corners where you can find freaking schveet stuff for awesome prices. we got a calvin klein winter coat for $40 and another ck top for $16,

>>YESTERDAY. mademoiselle haley brooke revealed her alexander mcqueen inspired dress yesterday afternoon to awed audiences, designed by her and merely modeled by me. dude, the dress was freaking amazing. i'm forcing her to keep it because it's so gorgeous and partially because i want to wear it to the next formal function. teehee. amanda christine has pictures, but will be scanned in later. ;)
>>THIS MORNING.woke up at 8, because for some reason, my body just refuses to let me sleep in. big sigh. frosted flakes + oranges for breakfast, amanda and haley wrapped in blankets come and find me blogging up here, and am now looking at a sketch haley and i planned last night, the "most luxurious bar in the whole wide world." we're architects. XD
